Room types and rate
Each flat accommodates four to eight students, sharing a well-equipped kitchen and dining area. All bedrooms have their own ensuite bathroom. We have 332 standard rooms (with a single bed) and 154 premium rooms (with a small double bed).
The weekly rate at Horton Halls for the 2019/20 academic year is £168 for a standard room and £178 for a premium room.
There are on-site laundry facilities, internet access in every room, and a secure reception manned 24 hours a day. A mixture of mixed and single sex flats are clustered around an attractive central courtyard. Each block includes a common room with comfortable seating and a large plasma-screen television, where students can relax and meet friends.
A local bus service, running every 20 minutes, serves the halls and drops off right outside the University’s main entrance.

When planning how much money to allow for accommodation, we recommend budgeting for a 42-week academic year, although this may be longer for some courses.

Undergraduates and international postgraduates are prioritised for places at Horton Halls in their first year. Most, if not all, of these students will secure a room.
Unless space is available, UK-based/Home postgraduate students are not normally allocated places at Horton Halls. Instead, most find private accommodation in the local area. We are happy to help you with advice on where to start with finding private accommodation. Most students start looking after Easter.
The University of London Housing Services (ULHS) provide a contract checking service, where you can get a professional to look over your contract before signing it and committing any money.
ULHS are based in central London but you can also make appointments by telephone or send them an email.
Once you receive an offer to study at St George’s as your first choice (either conditional or unconditional), an information pack will be sent to you (usually in the June before you start your course) to explain how to apply on the online accommodation portal.
Please look out for an email with details of how to apply for accommodation, or check back on this website for details.
