Elective accommodation is only available to students who apply through the official SGUL Medical Electives scheme and who have received written confirmation of their placement.
We have one flat of six bedrooms reserved for elective students. These rooms are standard rooms with a single bed, charged at £192 per week (from August 2023 onward).
We are unable to guarantee accommodation, so we recommend that you apply as soon as you have confirmation of your placement. We can normally offer a room from the weekend before your placement starts until the weekend after your placement finishes. If you have any other requests, please make this clear on your application.
When completing your application, please make sure to select ‘Elective’ and enter the dates you are requesting accommodation (these might be slightly longer than your placement dates).
If we are able to offer you a room, you will receive an email asking you to log back into the portal to accept the offer. You will also be given the option to choose whether you want us to provide bedding (charged at a fee of £35) or if you prefer to bring your own. This includes duvet, pillows, and the covers for both. You will need to bring your own towels and any other home comforts.
