St George’s, University of London recognises three trade unions for its employees:

  • British Medical Association (BMA)

  • Unite the Union

  • University and College Union (UCU)

Meetings are held with the three unions every term via the Joint Negotiating & Consultative Committee (JNCC).

Each union has its own staff representatives who are supported by union officials. Trade union representatives can support staff with any individual issues they may encounter, eg grievances or disciplinary hearings, and also represent employees as a whole, or as a specific group, in regard to organisational change, for example when an departmental restructure occurs or terms and conditions are altered.

A copy of the current recognition agreement can be found here.
