We host a number of events over the year to commemorate retirements, mark seasonal celebrations, and as teambuilding exercises. These regular events are governed by the finance policy and organised by the staff Events Group.
The Events Group meets once a month and is chaired by Jolanta Jeromina. They handle all parts of the process when planning events — selecting venues, choosing menus, producing decorations, and organising room set up and clear up. Afternoon teas are a chance to get to know other members of staff and to commemorate those staff who are leaving. They usually consist of a variety of cakes, biscuits, and tea, with caffeine free options available. These events take place monthly and invitations will be sent via Outlook calendar. Departing staff (or those planning a party for them) should contact Jolanta Jeromina
about what arrangements will be in place at these events.
New starter mornings are run so new members of the institute can get to know each other. We work together with HR to collate a list of all new starters and, when we have a sufficient number, the event is held. Breakfast is served and name badges provided so that new and experienced staff members can meet face to face. As there is no set timescale for this event, please keep an eye on your calendar invites.
We hold three seasonal events per year — a Winter Celebration party, a Summer Picnic, and a Spring Celebration. The format for these events varies from year to year, so if you are interested in helping out please contact the events group.
