The following information relates to the 2024 admissions cycle.

We understand that applicants may wish to appeal the grade(s) they have been given.

We are unable to advise on the review and appeals process, so please do contact your school or college who will be able to provide you with the necessary guidance. Below we have provided information about the steps you will need to follow to inform us that you are appealing your grades.

Step 1

If you have been unsuccessful in securing an unconditional offer for the course you applied for as a result of your grades, and intend to appeal these, you must let us know by the deadlines below:

  • A Level or BTEC: 5pm (UK time) 15 August 2024
  • Other qualifications: 5pm (UK time) on the relevant results day.

Please email admissions@sgul.ac.uk, with the subject line: ‘Appealing Grades – UCAS ID, Name, Course’. If you have received a change of course offer, please list ‘Course’ as the course you were holding a conditional offer for.

Once we have received this confirmation, we will hold your place until 31 August.

Step 2

If you meet the conditions of your offer as a result of your review/appeal, and we receive your confirmed results by 31 August 2024, we will make every effort to provide you with a 2024 offer.

If you meet the conditions of your offer as a result of your review/appeal, and we receive your confirmed results after 31 August but before 7 September 2024, we will make you a deferred offer for 2025 entry.

If you meet the conditions of your offer as a result of your review/appeal, and we receive your confirmed results after 7 September 2024, we would encourage you to submit a new application for 2025 entry.

Please note, if you meet the conditions of your offer as a result of your review/appeal by 31 August 2024 but have not completed Step 1, we will be unable to provide you with a 2024 offer.

If you have any questions, please email admissions@sgul.ac.uk, and a member of the team will be happy to help.
