Congratulations on receiving an offer to study at St George’s, University of London - the UK's specialist health university.

Thank you for selecting us as your firm choice.

There are a few important steps you must complete in order to receive an unconditional offer and enrol. Please make sure you read all the information carefully and follow the instructions below.

What you need to do now

Do you have an offer for Biomedical Science or Clinical Pharmacology? You do not need to submit an Occupational Health or DBS check, but please ensure you still read the information under 'What happens next'.

Have you converted from insurance to firm or received an offer through UCAS Clearing from July 2023? Your timeline is slightly different.

Apply for accommodation if you would like to live in our Halls of Residence next year. 

We have guaranteed accommodation for full-time students studying with us for the first time who apply before 1 July 2023.

Review the laptop requirements we suggest you have before starting your course.

Make sure you start your fitness to practise checks as soon as you firm your offer. The deadline to have submitted both checks is 15 July.

Please be aware that the process for each requirement varies.

This is not needed for Biomedical Science BSc/MSci or Clinical Pharmacology BSc offer holders.

For Graduate Entry Medicine MBBS, Occupational Therapy MSc, Physician Associate Studies MPAS, and Physiotherapy MSc only.

We will email you when it's time to upload your qualifications to the Applicant Portal. 

All qualifications must be received by the end of July to be considered for this year of entry.

Any results received after this day may result in your place being deferred.

August

 A Level results day when 2023 places will be confirmed. 

Places can only be confirmed if we have received evidence that you meet the academic conditions of your offer, and have submitted both parts of your fitness to practise requirements.

Early September

Make sure you have your academic certificates to hand so we can verify your qualifications. We will contact you by email when we require this information. More information can be found below under 'Verification of academic certificates'.

Early September

 You will receive an email with more information about enrolment which will include the following:

  • a link to begin your enrolment online

  • a timetable for your first week

  • information about induction.

Once you have enrolled, you will be able to apply for an Oyster card and a Council Tax letter.

In preparation for the start of the new academic year, please read the information below.

Verification and upload of academic certificates and documents

Ahead of enrolment, you will be asked to upload a copy of your academic certificates and ID documents to the Applicant Portal. This is an important part of preparing to start at St George's.

You will need to upload the following documents:

For all applicants

  • Passport or UK driving licence 
  • English Language tests (if applicable)
  • A signed Student Entry Agreement (a blank copy will be sent to you ahead of enrolment)

For non-graduate applicants

You do not need to upload A Level, IB, BTEC, Access, or Scottish Higher qualifications that were taken this year.

For graduate applicants

  • Undergraduate degree certificate(s)
  • Postgraduate degree certificate(s) (if applicable)

You will receive an email at the right time to do this. In the meantime, please gather your certificates so you have them ready.

Please note, you may be required to present some of the original documents again at enrolment. We will confirm this with you by email before enrolment.

Offer holders with pre-existing illnesses or disabilities

We want to make sure we can support you through your studies.

If you suffer or have suffered from a serious illness (physical or psychological), or have a disability or specific learning difficulty, please let us know. St George’s is committed to supporting our students and will explore all reasonable adjustments to support you to thrive on your course.

Please contact our Disability Advisor as soon as possible with details to help us establish whether your health history or disability is likely to affect your ability to study or practise. This will also give us sufficient time to carry out a detailed assessment, obtain reports and organise additional expert assessments if required.

There are very few reasons why someone cannot study with us, but occasionally our Disability Advisor or a member of the St George's Trust's Occupational Health department may advise that an applicant is not fit to study immediately which could result in a deferral or a withdrawal. 

Attendance at site

All of our courses include elements of teaching for which you will be required to attend the University site and attendance at these sessions will be essential to enable you to engage with the course and undertake assessments.

Placements

You will be required to undertake a personal risk assessment before you can attend any placements or undertake certain activities, such as those which include the practice of clinical skills or require the use of PPE. Where a health concern arises, every effort will be made to identify alternative placements arrangements, but your health and safety will be the first priority and alternative arrangements may not be possible, which may have implications for your study. If you are clinically vulnerable, we strongly encourage you to contact the Disability Advisor now to undertake an assessment.

 Helpful tips

  • Keep your contact details up to date on UCAS track.

  • Avoid using a school, university, or employer email address as your main contact email address as you might lose access before enrolment.

  • Keep an eye on your email and check it regularly. This is how we generally keep in touch, so look out for any @sgul.ac.uk emails.
