You will be able to book your place at your ceremony and purchase up to two guest tickets using our ticket booking website. You must book before the deadline, which is still to be confirmed for 2020 ceremonies. After the deadline we cannot guarantee you a place at the ceremony or any guest tickets. For some of you, the deadline will be before you receive your results. Either way, you must book your tickets before the deadline.
Your place as the graduate is free but guest tickets are £30 (including VAT). This includes your ceremony, a commemorative programme and a ceremony reception.
During this process, you need to advise us if you or any of your guests have any access requirements so that we can allocate appropriate seating. Read more about accessibility at The Barbican and how to get there.
When you book your place and purchase your guest tickets, you can request for extra tickets. Once the ticket booking deadline has passed, we will then assess the amount of tickets that are left and then release them on a first-come, first-serve basis. The date that extra tickets will be released will be confirmed after the ticket booking deadline has passed.
We advise you not to make any travel or accommodation arrangements on the basis that you might get the extra tickets that you need.
Children are very welcome to attend graduation. As all graduates sit together, we ask that any children sit with your guests. ‘Babes in arms’ can sit on a guests lap free of charge but children aged 3 and above need to have a paid ticket, as they will need a seat. If you feel that the children coming to the ceremony might not be able to sit through it, then a seating area outside of the main hall is available with TVs providing a live stream for your guests and any children to watch. Pushchairs and buggies are not permitted in the hall but are able to be checked into the cloakroom.
Please email us if you are bringing children and are concerned about your seating arrangements, we would be happy to help or seat you in the aisle so you can easily get out if necessary.
All tickets must be collected by the graduate during the below times (this may be updated for 2020 ceremonies). You will need to show your confirmation email and you may be asked for ID.
8 – 9.45am
12.30 – 2.15pm
Please note: any guests running late may not be able to sit in the seats stated on their ticket to minimise disruption to the ceremony.
Refunds for tickets can be requested at any point before the deadline. After this date refunds can’t be guaranteed. To request a refund please email the Graduations Team.
If for whatever reason you don’t achieve your award before the ceremony, you will be refunded for all your guest tickets.
If you or any of your guests require a letter to help with a visa application, then please email us to request one and we will happily provide one for you.
