Historically known as the Medical School Club, St George’s Students’ Union (SU) has been a core part of George’s life for longer than any of us can remember.
As well as being home to the SU bar, shop, music room and dance studios, we have over 100 clubs and societies that keep students busy while here at St George’s. The union is also a source of welfare support, and has an open-door policy for all students that need any help or advice.
Who we are
The union is a democratic organisation, and is run by the annually elected “top four officers”: president, vice president for education and welfare, vice president for finance and student activities, and general secretary. Find out more about your elected officers this year and the wider SU executive at St George’s Students Union.
What we do
St George’s Students’ Union is a registered charity, and also has a trading arm which comprises the school shop, the Dragon Bar, which is available for private hire at the weekends. Find out more about our commercial services.
We are supported by the university but are a separate organisation, and while we work closely with St George’s, we are here to independently support students when needed.
We launched our exciting strategy in 2018, Your Plan, Your Future, Our Union 2023, which sets out how the union plans to develop and strengthen the activities and support we can offer to students by 2023.
