Who we are
The Graduate School coordinates the university’s postgraduate and professional education provision, working closely with other departments and research institutes, including the Institute of Medical and Biomedical Education, Professional Services, and the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education.
Over 25 members of staff work within the Graduate School, which can be found in Hunter Wing. Our staff are organised into two teams, dedicated to coordinating the Masters in Physician Associate studies and postgraduate programmes, respectively.
Dr Rachel Allen is the Head of the Graduate School, supported by the Deputy Heads, Dr Mark Bodman-Smith (research degrees) and Carwyn Hooper (taught postgraduate programmes).
We provide a thriving research environment for our MPhil/PhD and MDRes students, supporting training through provision of our Skills Programme, which focuses on the development of transferable skills, and encouraging participation in Summer Schools.
Training and scholarship opportunities available at St George’s are extended through the following partnerships:
MRC London Intercollegiate Doctoral Training Partnership
Wellcome Clinical PhD Programme in Global Health Research
NIHR South London Applied Research Collaboration.
Current students can find research degree forms, regulations and procedures on the Canvas system.
Taught postgraduate degrees
