To recognise the excellent activity being carried out across the organisation, we will be awarding prizes to St George’s university staff and students under the following categories.
All applications should be sent to Louise Phillips, Head of Research Funding by 21 October for consideration by the panel.
Award holders will be notified in advance of Research Day and will be asked to give a 10 minute presentation as part of the award ceremony.
Outstanding research publication for the academic year 2018-19 (September to August)
Applications for this award can be self-nominations or nominations from a mentor or colleague. The published paper should represent top-quality science likely to generate impact in its research field. Candidates must be first author or corresponding author and submit a copy of the paper with an explanation of no more than 150 words as to why this paper is a landmark.
Excellence in public/civic engagement in research
Self-nominations or nominations from a mentor or colleague will be accepted. Applicants have up to 250 words to describe their activity and its impact.
Outstanding research achievement by a university lecturer / Outstanding research achievement by university senior lecturer
Self-nominations or nominations from a mentor or colleague will be accepted for both of these categories. Applicants have up to 250 words to describe their activity and its impact.
Postdoctoral research scientist excellence award
This can be self-nominated or nominated by a supervisor. Up to 250 words to be provided explaining the research, grant, fellowship or other broader contribution to St George’s, University of London.
