Would you like to complete a virtual internship?

Published: 19 June 2020

As well as uploading advice and resources to the Careers webpages, the Careers Service would like to highlight an opportunity for students to complete internships virtually.

Consultant, Karen Deadfield, explains, “The Careers Group is partnering with the Bright Network to promote their virtual internships programme which will run this summer in response to the pandemic and the consequential drop in the number of internships available.”

“There are six sectors that the internships focus on: investment banking technology, business, operations and marketing, finance and professional services, consulting, and law. There are an unlimited number of places available and all the internships are supported by large, ‘blue chip’ companies such as JP Morgan, PWC and Amazon.

“The internships are especially useful for those hoping to progress into a career within these sectors as each one includes an introduction to the respective sector in question. However, it might still worth considering if you are undecided about what sector or role you wish to move into. Attendees will have something to add to their CV and be able to show how skills were developed as part of their career planning.

“If you would like to discuss the internships further, you can always book an appointment with myself or another member of the careers team here. Appointments run throughout the summer.”
