Our annual telephone campaign, which took place from Monday 26 April to Sunday 16 May 2021, has raised over £126,000 for student causes across our university.

We want to say a huge thank you to our generous alumni who supported our campaign, as well as our fantastic team of student callers.
The callers spoke to over 880 alumni about their time at St George’s, shared news from the university, and talked about the vital support that they can provide to ensure that our students have the financial and emotional support that they need during their degrees.
We are very grateful to those of you who engaged with one of our calls, with many of you offering advice and guidance to help the students who are embarking on their careers.
The success of this year’s campaign is testimony to our alumni’s generosity and kindness and will ensure that students across the University are able to thrive, whatever their circumstances.
Hear from our student callers
Second year Biomedical Science student, Krishen Mistry, says of his experience as a student caller:
“Participating in the campaign was greatly rewarding as it not only made me feel more connected with the University, but I was also able to attain guidance and advice for post-university life and in my journey to become a doctor.
“As an aspiring doctor, I felt that hearing the first-hand experiences of alumni has helped me to solidify my career choice and greatly inspired me to hear where a degree from SGUL has taken them and what it has enabled them to achieve.”
Another student caller, who would prefer to remain anonymous, chose to donate an hour of her salary from the campaign to the Hardship Fund and says:
“I have really enjoyed my time as a student caller, it was my way of giving back to St George’s after my time studying here.
“Speaking to our diverse community of alumni was a new experience and it was great when we raised funding towards student wellbeing, doctoral and hardship projects.”
