The students’ union (SU) shop, recently refurbished during the summer of 2018, is a modern and welcoming retail outlet. The SU shop benefits from being part of a nationwide purchasing consortium, run by the NUS, so all our products are competitively priced and provide excellent value for our customers.
Where, when and why to visit the SU shop
The SU shop is located on the ground floor of Hunter Wing and sells an extensive range of food and drink, stationery, newspapers, greetings cards and other grocery essentials.
There is also a wide variety of international foods and ingredients, not found anywhere else on site. We are currently the only place in Tooting that sells Krispy Kreme doughnuts, and we offer meal deals on selected sandwiches and wraps.
In addition, you can also top up your Oyster card and buy first- and second-class stamps in store.
Every penny that you spend in the SU shop helps to support the students’ union, as the profits generated each year go back into the SU charity to help fund the welfare services and activities the SU offers to students.
Clothing and merchandise
The SU shop has a dedicated clothing and merchandise area selling university branded merchandise and items from the students’ union’s newly designed clothing range. The full range of clothing can be viewed at the students’ union (SU) shop and click and collect orders can be delivered directly to the SU shop free of charge.
Opening times
The SU shop is open Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 4pm and is managed by Bobby Davies, supported by David Francisco (Assistant Manager) and Jordan Shamsoo (Shop Supervisor). A team of part-time student staff support the substantive team.
St George’s Students Union has its own loyalty card, the Dragon Card, which can be used across the SU shop and the SU bar to acquire points on all purchases. Your points can be redeemed against purchases in both outlets.
