The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2000 is intended to promote transparency amongst public sector bodies, including higher education institutions such as St George’s, University of London. It essentially gives people the right to request information from St George’s about the business of the institution, such as decision making processes and finances.

One of the legal requirements of the FOI Act is to adopt a publication scheme. The publication scheme outlines the categories of information the institution publishes (or intends to publish), how the information can be accessed and whether there are any charges involved in obtaining this information.

Detailed information about St George’s publication scheme can be found on our Freedom of Information pages.

Additional information on the Freedom of Information Act can be found on the Information Commissioner's Office website.
