Dear all

Following our message on Monday regarding testing and the student travel window, we received new guidance from the Government yesterday evening regarding student movement at the end of term.

We have now been advised that all students should be able to return home during the student travel window between 3 and 9 December, if they choose to do so. This includes students on clinical placements.

The Government has asked us to rearrange placements where possible. This presents significant challenges, given the intense schedule which students on affected courses are following to meet their programme requirements, including external factors, such NHS provider capacity and programme regulatory demands.

We are urgently working through the implications of this change, together with feedback we’ve received from the Students’ Union, and will share a further update with you all as soon as possible. So that you can make an informed decision as to when and where to book a test, and when to travel, we suggest students on placements don’t make any definite plans yet. You will receive more information within the next 24 hours, and test bookings will no longer close at the end of this week.

Thank you for your patience and for supporting each other at this uncertain time.

Best wishes

Paul Ratcliffe

Chief Operating Officer
