Tsara-EDITTsara Boakye enrolled on St George’s Medicine course through Clearing 2020.

On what the application process was like, Tsara begins:

“I found the application process very easy to use and really liked that it was digital. From an applicant's perspective it made the application process a lot less stressful as it gave me time to find all the relevant information I needed."

“My advice to any students applying through Clearing this year would be to just go for it! The worst that can happen is that you have to apply again next year."

“I would also recommend that you start preparing for an interview (if one is required as a condition of entry for the course you are applying to) as soon as you submit your application as things move very quickly during Clearing. I submitted my Clearing application on a Friday morning and had an interview the following Monday morning! Finally, when you do get that interview try your best and let your personality shine through!"

“In terms of the course, although the amount of work is as I expected, I still don't think I was prepared for just how much I had to learn in such a short amount of time."

"My favourite topic is Clinical Skills, another plus is being able to practise what you have learnt in reality. It really makes you feel like a medical student while studying clinical sciences."

“More generally, I would definitely recommend talking to people every chance you get - everyone will be in the same boat as you, so don't be afraid to reach out to people!"

"Even though I am from London, it's been great to experience familiar places with new people.”
