Mohammed Ashoor enrolled through Clearing to study Diagnostic Radiography at St George’s in 2019. Mohammed shares his advice for this year’s Clearing applicants and how he has found studying at the university, including remotely.

Mohammed says, “The advice I would give to students applying through Clearing is to not panic. There’s a lot of pressure on students when applying via Clearing but, from my experience with St George’s, it was a very welcoming and calm process. I was made to feel at ease and felt comfortable throughout.

“Studying at St George’s has exceeded my expectations. The lecturers are excellent and are more than willing to support you in any way possible throughout the year, from placement to out of university experiences.

“I would tell all future students that remote learning is not a frightful experience. It is a lot more independent from home but, from my experience, I did not struggle with that as all I needed to do to adapt was revise just that little extra using all the resources available to me.

“St George’s, for me, is excellent. I love the area it is based in (Tooting) which has a number of tasty restaurants! St George’s is a relatively small university, but that’s what I love about it. Everybody knows everybody, you can’t go a few minutes without bumping into a friend. So you never feel alone which I think is excellent for new students!”
