A picture of Daria ChiricaDaria Chirica is a current Biomedical Science student at St George’s who enrolled through Clearing in 2019.

Daria says, “My experience with Clearing was very easy and smooth. I did not have any problems applying on results day, St George’s made the process very clear. Clearing may seem very stressful, however, I found that keeping calm and in a positive frame of mind made the experience better. St George’s were very friendly and made sure that all my questions were answered.

“For students applying through Clearing this year, I would advise to stay relaxed, not to worry too much about the process, and to not be afraid to ask questions.

“Studying at St George’s has been a positive experience so far. The course, Biomedical Science, has been challenging but I have enjoyed acquiring all the new knowledge throughout my first year.”

As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, remote learning was implemented at the University.

Daria continues, “I found that remote learning due to Covid-19 was not a bad experience for me at all. At the start I thought it would be difficult, but the university did all that they could to make the process easier and useful. Personally, I did not find it difficult to keep up with the content during the period of remote learning.

“We were provided with updates from staff about the measures the University were putting in place for us. We were also encouraged to always ask questions if we had any doubts about both lecture content and also any future steps during the pandemic.

“My experience at St George’s has been great, both staff and students have been amazing and friendly. I believe that the University has created a good environment for learning and also non-academic activities - the Students’ Union has several societies which students can join in order to meet new people and make friends.”
