Academic promotion

Each year a promotion round is run for academic employees, including clinicians and staff employed within NHS trusts who hold honorary titles with the university, to seek promotion to senior lecturer, reader or professor.

The guidance below outlines the academic promotions procedure and provides instructions for completing an application form.

Applicants are particularly advised to note the timetable carefully in planning their submissions.
