About Us

Julie joined St George’s planning team in September 2012 and was appointed to the role of Director of Planning in September 2016. She provides advice to the university leadership on policy initiatives, rankings and performance. Her responsibilities include:

• assistance in formulating a new strategic and operational plan, including monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs)

• coordination of the planning rounds

• horizon scanning for changes to higher education (HE), assessing impact on St George’s, University of London via evidence-based briefing papers and analysing the likely impact of policies and other external drivers

• scenario planning

• analysis of grant letters, including assessing impact of changing funding models

• analysis and modelling of data submit to external bodies – for example, the teaching excellence framework (TEF)

Julie is currently a member of the following groups:

• London Higher Planners’ Group, including the sub-groups TEF Task Group and the London Weighting Task Group

• Higher Education Data Interest Group (HEDIG)

• Complete University Guide Advisory Group

• Higher Education Strategic Planners’ Group

Prior to St George’s, Julie was Deputy Head of Planning at Queen Mary, University of London, where she provided executive support to the senior vice-principal for strategic projects, as well as providing advice to the senior executive, to underpin and support strategic planning and decision-making. She also managed the team responsible for statutory reporting and management information.

Julie has also worked in planning at the University of Greenwich and at a London public health authority. She holds a PhD in Mathematics which she undertook at Queen Mary and volunteers as a treasurer for a charity.

Ledish joined St. George’s as Planning Officer in January 2023. He supports the Director of Planning with his contribution to policy development and provides analysis and briefing papers to support the University in achieving it’s strategic objectives.

His responsibilities include:

• Contributing to the development of strategy, policy and operational planning
• Developing a range of key performance indicators (KPIs) and analysing the University’s performance
• Analysis of published assessments of performance e.g. the NSS, LEO data and HESA Performance Indicators
• Maintenance and development of student number models for income forecasting
• Interpreting published performance outcomes of specific projects, such as the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).

Prior to this role, Ledish worked has Financial Transactions Supervisor, where he supported the Financial Transactions, Payroll and Pension Manager with overseeing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable at St George's. He was involved in processing invoices and making payments to suppliers as well credit control and raising invoices to customers and students. 
 
Ledish holds a degree in Mathematics and Statistics with Finance BSc which he undertook at Queen Mary, University of London.
