Events, communications, GAT and SGRQ: Our experienced staff will support you with organising research events, and distributing communications to the research environment.  In addition we provide administrative support to the George’s Academic Training (GAT) team, and the St. George’s Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ).

In my role as GAT Assistant I work closely with the St George’s GAT Lead, Professor Nidhi Sofat, to support our clinical academic trainees and to develop and expand their research training programme.  Since the start of my employment at St George's in 2007 I have managed and co-ordinated the distribution and licensing of the SGRQ.  This role includes curating the extensive SGRQ translation library. I currently supervise a team of two administrators Angela Mason and Ria O'Grady.

I work Wednesday and Friday (Weds office-based)

AngelaResponsibilities:   

  • Advertising weekly seminars for the three Research Institutes, producing and distributing programmes, liaising with academic staff and speakers and producing and distributing a weekly seminar bulletin.
  • Assist with the organisation of various events i.e,  booking rooms, ordering catering and equipment for the three Research Institutes.  This includes,  events such as St George’s annual Research Day, and Research Institutes’ annual research named days, such as Jenner Day and InterTB Symposium.
  • I produce and distribute bi-monthly newsletter for the MCS Research Institute. 
  • Maintain and update webpage content relating to events, SGRQ, GAT and Research Operations directorate.

Ria O'Grady, Administrative Assistant – (Events, Communications, GAT and SGRQ)

I work Mon - Fri.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting  Administrative Officer Yvonne Forde;
  • Producing and distributing the GAT newsletter;
  • Maintaining and updating Research Operations web pages;
  • Helping to coordinate Research Day with an emphasis on sponsors;
  • Offering general support for Research Operations events, eg. arranging catering and room bookings.
