Core Facilities — Operations and Administrations was created in 2014 in conjunction with the restructuring of the research institutes of the university. The aggregation of core laboratory activities, as well as the centralisation of core administrative and financial services, was the driving force behind the group's creation.

We employ 25 members of staff who are dedicated to delivering the best support available to the research community on site. Our activities range from practical, specialist technical support to logistics to health and safety support. Our staff are trained and highly skilled individuals situated across the research institutes and research facilities to offer that support locally.

We work collaboratively with administrative staff from the research institutes to improve day-to-day operations.
