I am responsible for brand strategy and ensuring the reputation of St George’s, University of London is promoted and maintained across internal and key external audiences.

I share the role of Director of External Relations, Communications and Marketing with Caroline Davis. Caroline works full days on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. I work half a day on Tuesday and full days on Wednesday and Thursday.

I have focused my career to date on the education sector, with early roles at the Universities of Reading and Warwick as well as a year at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. I joined Imperial College London in 2000 as a graduate management trainee and quickly specialised in communications and external relations.

I spent 10 years as Head of Digital and Creative Media at Imperial College London where I was responsible for Imperial's brand, messaging, web presence, social media, video production, photography, print production and regular giving. While at Imperial, I directed two major website redesigns, the launch of a revamped news channel for the College, the introduction of student blogs, and an award-winning institutional magazine.

I then spent 18 months as Managing Director of Pickle Jar Communications, a content strategy and digital communications consultancy specialising in projects for the education and charity sector. I directed a number of projects for clients including Students’ Union UCL, University of London, University for the Creative Arts, Bocconi University, University of York, Teesside University, Fieldwork Education, Stirling University and City, University of London. While at Pickle Jar, I led the audience research and content strategy phases of the St George's website redevelopment.

Since leaving Pickle Jar in January 2018, I have focused on digital project management and strategy. I completed a 12-month contract at the Francis Crick Institute, leading a website transformation project, introduction of a new email marketing tool and procurement of a digital image library.

I joined St George's in September 2018 as Associate Director for Projects within External Relations, Communications and Marketing and in September 2019, was appointed to share the role of Director of the team with Caroline Davis.

When not working at St George's, I take on consultancy contracts through my company and have worked with clients including St Paul's Cathedral, Stockholm International School, University of Aberdeen and the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants.
