Vivienne Parry OBE is perhaps best known for hosting medical and scientific programmes for BBC Radio 4 such as Inside the Ethics Committee, and is a former presenter of ‘Tomorrow’s World’.


A scientist by training, she writes widely on health subjects and is a prolific contributor to science magazines and newspapers.

Vivenne is Head of Engagement at Genomics England, which delivered the 100,000 Genomes Project and also sits on the board of UK Research and Innovation.

In our inaugural Public Engagement lecture, she will be discussing her experiences in public engagement, explaining why ‘with’ is the word of the moment, and how the new UKRI Public Engagement Strategy marks a watershed in the releationship between research and society.
