Building on a successful partnership, the University of Nicosia Medical School and St George’s, University of London, will offer a Postgraduate Diploma and Master in Family Medicine as concurrent awards from both institutions.

This is the first postgraduate programme in Family Medicine in Cyprus and will contribute positively to the continuing professional development of physicians in Cyprus as well as the wider region.

Strengthening primary health care in Cyprus is a key requirement for the successful implementation of the new National Health System.

The course combines flexible e-learning with intensive face-to-face training in advanced clinical skills and communications.

If enrolled full-time, students can obtain their Master in Family Medicine within 18 months or they can study part-time for up to four academic years.

These concurrent awards are the latest development from the long-term agreement between St George's, University of London and the University of Nicosia Medical School.

The partnership, which has been very successful, began in 2011, when the University of Nicosia established the first medical school in Cyprus and launched the collaborative graduate-entry 4-Year Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery course.

On 15 May 2015, the programme’s first cohort of medical students graduated in Cyprus with a St George’s award.
