Leaders from the University of Nicosia, Cyprus, have visited St George’s, University of London, to extend their collaboration which will benefit international students.

Dr Nicos Peristianis, President of the Council of the University of Nicosia (UNic), and Professor Andreas Charalambous, Executive Dean of UNic’s Medical School, met our Principal Peter Kopelman during the visit.

In 2011, the University of Nicosia established the first Medical School in Cyprus, and launched the Graduate Entry 4-Year MBBS Programme (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery), the first Medical Programme in Cyprus, in collaboration with St. George’s, University of London.

Both universities have signed a long-term agreement to renew and extend their successful and innovative partnership in medical education. In May this year, the programme’s first cohort of 28medical students will graduate in Cyprus with a St George’s award.

Principal Professor Peter Kopelman will be attending the graduation ceremony in Nicosia on 15 May.
