Share your feedback on disability inclusion at St George’s

Published: 04 March 2021

At the end of last year, we ran a number of focus groups as well as an anonymous survey, open to all staff with lived experience of disability, including any hidden or undisclosed disabilities, as well as long term physical and mental health conditions. We received valuable feedback from those who participated which will inform a series of actions to improve disability inclusion at St George’s. Thank you to those who shared their experience and feedback.

To continue to gather valuable feedback, we have relaunched this survey and will be running a number of additional focus groups in March and April.

The aim of these feedback gathering exercises is to hear more staff experiences at work for staff with disabilities and long-term health conditions, including what is working well and what could be improved.

This feedback is essential in informing the action and approaches we take to improve disability inclusion at St Georges. Earlier feedback indicated key issues around routes to raise and report concerns, as well as support and guidance in doing so. We are now in the process of developing an informal provision for staff to confidentially discuss concerns, which is not part of the formal grievance procedure.

An anonymous survey is available to all staff who have a disability, including hidden and undisclosed disabilities, long term health conditions, and staff who have experienced disability in the past.

The focus groups will be jointly run by Nathalie Fayers (Staff Disability Network Chair) and Liz Grand (Diversity and Inclusion Adviser) and will gather more in-depth feedback on experiences and areas for improvement and change. All feedback will be kept confidential within the session and will be anonymized.

If you are interested in joining a focus group, please email Liz Grand, Diversity and Inclusion Adviser (lgrand@sgul.ac.uk) and indicate which date you would like to attend.

Focus group sessions:

  • Tuesday 16 March – 11am – 12pm

  • Thursday 18 March – 3pm – 4pm

  • Monday 12 April – 2pm – 3pm

  • Wednesday 14 April – 10am – 11am
