A national survey has found that graduates of St George’s, University of London, have the second best job prospects for final year students of all universities across the country.

The Complete University Guide 2016 survey says St George’s is ahead of Oxford and Cambridge, who polled third and seventh respectively.

The Telegraph newspaper, reporting on the study, said: “The specialist medical and health care sciences school takes second place. It has the benefit of being the only UK university to share a campus with a teaching hospital, engaging its students in a professional environment throughout their degrees.

“On its medicine programmes, 100 per cent of graduates are in employment within six months of course completion.”

The survey showed that 89.4% of graduates are in either employment or in postgraduate study six months after they have completed their undergraduate study at St George’s. This is an increase from 87.3% in the 2015 league table.

The Complete University Guide 2016 uses data from the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) and is based on 2013 graduate destinations.
