The George’s Skills and Recognition Award is a scheme to help you improve and evidence what skills you are building while at university. Whether you know what profession you will be working in when you graduate or not, during your career you will need to be able to talk about the skills you have and provide examples of when you have used them effectively. By taking part in the award, you will be able to create a personalised digital portfolio that you can take with you when you graduate.
Where will your skills take you?
So you have come to St George’s to become a doctor, or a radiographer or perhaps a paramedic. You know you are going to be a healthcare professional, or maybe you are still not sure. Whatever your choice, our goal is to help you build long-term transferable skills that will benefit you throughout your whole career.
You will take part in a range of extra-curricular activities during your degree. That might be on campus, in your own community or through a part-time job. Whatever you are involved in, we can reward you if you can tell us how you have developed your skills in the process.
With 11 skills badges available to collect, you could achieve the George’s Skills and Recognition Award by evidencing how you have built up your skills through the various extra-curricular activities you have participated in.
