What are the grants?

The St George’s PE Seeding Funding supports staff and students in developing and delivering public engagement activities and events. Applicants can apply for grants ranging up to £1000.

Who can apply?

Research students and staff at St George’s. Projects can have members from outside St George’s involved in the planning and delivery, but must have at least one member from St George’s to qualify.

What projects are supported?

Any project that falls within the NCCPE scope of Public Engagement will be considered. If you are applying for money for work that could be considered PPI for your project, then please indicate why this funding is not already provided by any grants that fund the work. For video and multimedia projects, please consider the promotion and dissemination of the material that is produced – and budget accordingly. We are will not fund the production of content that is unlikely to ever engage its target audience.

What are the timings of the grant applications?

The application process runs three times a year, and is designed to support projects that start before the end of the next academic term. I.e. grants awarded in the spring term must have started before the end of the summer term. The projects does not need to have finished before the deadline.  If funding is required before the current funding round closes, then we can consider this on an ad hoc basis, please email to discus this further, however we will not consider funding for events that have already happened.

Funded activities will be asked to write up a short report of what they did and how it went for inclusion on the Public Engagement Training programmes bank of case studies.
