The library has wheelchair access.

Orientation tours

Staff can provide one-to-one orientation tours of the library facilities. Please contact Louise Davies or your liaison librarian to arrange a time.

Using e-resources and IT

One-to-one training in the use of Library resources can be provided. Please ask at the Research Enquiries Desk (11am-2pm, Monday to Friday), call 020 8725 5514, or see your Liaison Librarian.


Library staff can retrieve items from the shelves for you. Please ask at the research enquiries desk or library helpdesk in the first instance.


One-week loan items can be issued for two weeks and three-week loans can be issued for six weeks. Please note that fines on overdue items still apply.

Photocopying and printing

If you need to reclaim photocopying or printing costs, staff can issue a receipt for any monies added to a printing account. Library staff can also demonstrate how to use copiers and scanners to enlarge text.

Computing facilities

Contact the user services manager (details at the top of this page) for assistance with chair positions, screen displays, and font size for PCs in the library computer rooms.

Assistive technologies

Inspiration mind-mapping software is available on all the PCs in the computer rooms on the first floor, Hunter Wing.

Furniture and equipment

There are two height-adjustable tables in the newly refurbished space. Please ask at the helpdesk if you need to adjust the height.

A daylight lamp and large computer monitor are available on short-loan (four hours) from the helpdesk – for use in the library only.
