Orientation tours

Staff can provide one-to-one orientation tours of the library facilities. Please contact our User Experience and Operations Manager or your liaison librarian to arrange a time.

Using e-resources and IT

One-to-one training in the use of library resources can be provided. Please ask at the Library Helpdesk (8am-6pm, Monday to Friday) for more information, or contact your liaison librarian.

Fetching

Loans

One-week loan items can be issued for two weeks and three-week loans can be issued for six weeks. Items will automatically renew until the end of your course, unless reserved by another user in which case you'll receive notification of its return date. Late return of items that have been reserved by other users will incur a fine.

Photocopying and printing

If you need to reclaim photocopying or printing costs, staff can issue a receipt for any monies added to a printing account. Library staff can also demonstrate how to use copiers and scanners to enlarge text.

Computing facilities

Contact our User Experience and Operations Manager (details at the top of this page) for assistance with chair positions, screen displays, and font size for PCs in the library computer rooms.

Assistive technologies

Inspiration mind-mapping software is available on all the PCs in the computer rooms on the first floor, Hunter Wing.

Furniture and equipment

There is one height-adjustable table in the large silent study area. Please ask at the Library Helpdesk if you need to adjust the height and are unsure how to do this.

A daylight lamp is available on short-loan (four hours) from the Library Helpdesk – for use in the library only.
