Breast Imaging FdSc

This course enables you to fulfil your potential in breast imaging, providing the competence to practice.

You will gain the skills and experience needed to support mammography radiographers, many of whom are undertaking advanced practice roles.

This course is ideal if you are an assistant radiography practitioner in mammography who

  • Works in a breast screening unit; and
  • Undertakes mammographic procedures in the NHS breast-screening programme (BSP)

Assistant practitioners working outside the NHS BSP, but who have access to a suitable number of mammograms, are also eligible for the course.

This course was designed in response to the needs of the NHS Breast Screening Service, and provides in-depth knowledge of breast imaging, strategies to meet the diverse demands and needs of women, and analysis of health promotion and interpersonal awareness in breast screening.
