We have funding available for full-time undergraduate and postgraduate EU and international students who are experiencing financial hardship due to unexpected circumstances beyond their control.
Awards are usually made in the form of a non-repayable grant, however interest-free Emergency Short Term Loans may also be available from this Fund. Students can apply to this Fund on more than one occasion during their time at St George’s if necessary, but not usually more than once per academic year.
Who can apply?
The funding is available to full-time EU and international students who are fully registered and enrolled at St George’s, University of London and in attendance on an undergraduate or postgraduate course. Students registered on a Kingston University course should contact Kingston’s Fees & Funding team for advice.
Applicants need to demonstrate that they had initially secured sufficient funding to study and live in the UK, and that their financial hardship is due to unforeseen circumstances beyond their control.
How to apply
Please note that the Fund cannot help with paying for tuition fees.
Emergency Short Term Loans
In some circumstances, EU and international students can apply for an interest-free Emergency Short Term Loan from this Hardship Fund. Emergency Loans will usually need to be repaid within 8-12 weeks, and always within the same academic year they were taken out.
