We want you to become part of our global student community and use your experience with us to help bring transformational change around the world. To achieve this we have identified and developed a range of funding options.

Our scholarships and awards are available to self-funded students taking the following postgraduate programmes:

Qualifying for a Scholarship or Award
All scholarship applications to programmes listed above will be considered on the basis of a separate scholarship application. The scholarship application form will be emailed to you following the application to your academic programme.
Our Scholarships and Awards Committee will then assess your scholarship application. Successful scholarship applicants will have a very strong academic background, and a strong accompanying letter to their scholarship application.
Our GREAT Scholarships – Indian students only
St George’s, University of London is a participant in the GREAT Scholarship scheme, undertaken with the British Council. There is a single award available for each of the following programmes, and the application process is outlined above.
BSc (Hons) or MSci Biomedical Science 40% (£6,068) of year 1 tuition fee
MSc Genomic Medicine 30% (£6645) of tuition fee
MSc Sports Cardiology 30% (£7,110) of tuition fee
MRes Biomedical Science 30% (6,798) of tuition fee
Our International Postgraduate Excellence Scholarships
Details of the number and value of these scholarships will appear here by February 2017. The application procedure is outlined above.
Our alumni will also benefit from our alumni tuition fee discount of 10%. This can also be taken off the remaining tuition fee if awarded a Scholarship or Award.
Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The Scholarships are awarded to outstanding Scholars with leadership potential. Awards are for a one-year Master’s degree.
Applicants should be high calibre graduates with the personal, intellectual and interpersonal qualities necessary for leadership. Chevening Scholars come from over 160 countries and territories worldwide (excluding the USA and the EU).
Most Chevening Scholarships cover:
- Tuition fees
- A living allowance at a set rate (for one individual)
- An economy class return airfare to the UK
- Additional grants to cover essential expenditure
Some Scholarships cover part of the cost of studying in the UK; for example, tuition fees only or allowances only.
The UK goverment offers loans for course fees to EU nationals. International students are not eligible for loans towards tution fees but can apply for funding from banks and other sources.
Canadian loans are means-tested, meaning you must demonstrate financial need in order to qualify for financial aid.

US students may eligible for federal and private loans.
Erasmus+ Master Degree Loans
Erasmus+ Master Degree Loans are European Union-guaranteed loans with favourable terms that can help students from European Union countries, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Turkey to finance a Masters course in the UK.
