We want you to become part of our global student community and use your experience with us to help bring transformational change around the world. To achieve this we have identified and developed a range of funding options.

Our scholarships and awards are available to self-funded students taking the following postgraduate programmes:

Our International Postgraduate Excellence Scholarships
St George’s offers its International Postgraduate Excellence Scholarships, worth up to £3,000, in the form of a reduction in your tuition fee. They are valid for 1 academic year, for students from outside the EU who are looking to study with us.
Our Global Health Awards
Additionally, our Global Health Awards are offered to students who are citizens of India, Nigeria, Canada, United States of America, United Arab Emirates and Qatar and are looking to support their country in the provision of excellence in their healthcare and medical systems. St George’s Global Health Awards are worth up to a maximum of 25% of tuition fees, in the form of a reduction in your tuition fee, and are valid for 1 academic year.
Qualifying for a Scholarship or Award
All applications to programmes listed above will be considered on a competitive basis by our Scholarships and Awards Committee – you don’t have to complete any separate application forms. Successful students will have a very strong academic background, and an excellent Personal Statement demonstrating how they will contribute to the academic environment at St. George’s and their home country on completion of the programme.
To be eligible to be considered for a scholarship or award. Applications to study must be received by 12th August 2016 and be offered a place for study in September 2016. We will let applicants know if they have been successful in gaining a Scholarship or Award in mid August. Successful applicants will only be awarded one International Postgraduate Excellence Scholarship or a Global Health Award.
Our alumni will also benefit from our alumni tuition fee discount of 10%. This can also be taken off the remaining tuition fee if awarded a Scholarship or Award.
Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The Scholarships are awarded to outstanding Scholars with leadership potential. Awards are for a one-year Master’s degree.
Applicants should be high calibre graduates with the personal, intellectual and interpersonal qualities necessary for leadership. Chevening Scholars come from over 160 countries and territories worldwide (excluding the USA and the EU).
Most Chevening Scholarships cover:
- Tuition fees
- A living allowance at a set rate (for one individual)
- An economy class return airfare to the UK
- Additional grants to cover essential expenditure
Some Scholarships cover part of the cost of studying in the UK; for example, tuition fees only or allowances only.
The UK goverment offers loans for course fees to EU nationals. International students are not eligible for loans towards tution fees but can apply for funding from banks and other sources.
Canadian loans are means-tested, meaning you must demonstrate financial need in order to qualify for financial aid.

Erasmus+ Master Degree Loans
Erasmus+ Master Degree Loans are European Union-guaranteed loans with favourable terms that can help students from European Union countries, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Turkey to finance a Masters course in the UK.
