What if the students falls ill?
Our students are encouraged to register with a local GP as soon as they start, and many nearby surgeries attend our Fresher’s Fayre on the first day to register students. In addition the Tooting Walk-In Centre is available from 7am to 10pm every day on site. The St George’s Student Centre at studentcentre@sgul.ac.uk or 020 8266 6344 can help students to access local healthcare and also refer students to additional support through our halls wardens or disability advisor.
What if the student needs help with their studies?
There are a variety of options that our students can seek out to get assistance with their studies:
- Academic Skills Centre
- Royal Literary Fellow
- The Essential Skills Programme
- Meeting with personal tutors
All of these can be accessed through the Student Centre.

Sometimes parents or guardians do not know where to call when they have concerns. When a situation arises, it is a good idea to call the Student Centre on 020 8266 6355. While we cannot reveal certain information because of the Data Protection Act, we can listen and make referrals to the appropriate support services.
