Library Services for NHS and Social Care Staff
The Library provides a range of services and resources for NHS and selected social care staff across South West London in support of evidence-based clinical care and service development.
If you work at St George's you can join by filling out a form from the library, otherwise you can complete our online form.

Electronic Resources
A wide range of resources are accessible anywhere via the internet, but you will need to login with your NHS Athens first- to get a password self-register from any NHS PC
E-Journals
NHS staff have access to nearly 3,000 electronic full-text journals covering clinical medicine, nursing, psychology and healthcare management. For more information click here and for direct access click here.
Databases
A wide range of databases such as Medline, Cinahl, PsycINFO and HMIC are available to search for journal articles on a topic.

NHS staff across London now have access to the BMJLearning suite of interactive online CPD modules. Athens password required.

Information Searching and Enquiries
Staff can request a literature search to support patient care and service transformation using our Clinical and Research Enquiry Service (CARES). Use the online form to access this free service or email jkirby@sgul.ac.uk outlining your request.

Document Supply
If you are unable to come the library you can also request photocopies from print journals or request a book here. (Conditions apply).
Training
A free bookable programme of information skills training is available, supporting learning and development and evidence-based care and decision-making. Drop-in sessions on literature searching are available on Thursday’s at Queen Mary’s Hospital Library. Sessions are also held at St George’s library every Thursday 3-4, email liblearn@sgul.ac.uk to check availability.
