Dr Sunil Shah is a part-time Senior Lecturer in public health. After graduating in medicine from St George's, University of London, Dr Shah went on to specialise in public health medicine and was a full-time consultant in public health medicine for seven years.
Dr Shah is currently principal investigator of a NIHR funded study examining the health and quality of healthcare for people with learning disability using a large primary care database. He has recently completed studies examining the effects of bereavement on the health of older people and quality of medical care for older people in care homes. He is also a co-investigator on a trial on the effectiveness of primary care interventions to increase physical activity.
In addition to his research duties, Dr Shah also leads and organises the final year MBBS public health attachment.
