St George's Clinical Pharmacology course among sector leaders

St George’s, University of London’s Clinical Pharmacology course has been named the third best pharmacy and pharmacology course in the UK by the Guardian. The course, which recently celebrated its first cohort of graduates following its introduction at St George’s in 2019, is the highest ranked pharmacology offering by the Guardian with the courses ranked higher devoted to pharmacy and pharmaceutical science respectively.
Clinical Pharmacology at St George’s takes a holistic view of the development of drugs. This ranges from understanding disease processes and identifying possible drug targets, to organising testing, rolling out clinical trials, negotiating complex regulations and licensing and finally, treating patients and potentially saving lives. It prepares students for employment through a six-week work placement in 2nd year as well as an opportunity to spend an additional professional year on placement in industrial, clinical or other settings.
