The honours list for the Queen's 90th birthday has recognised members of the Joint Faculty of St George's, University of London and Kingston University.

Professor Vari Drennan has been awarded an MBE as part of the Honours List for the Queen's 90th birthday. She was honoured for "services to Health Policy Research, Development and Nursing".

At the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education, she is Professor of Healthcare and Policy Research, Director of the Centre for Health and Social Care Research, and Associate Dean for Research.

She said: "I am hugely moved and honoured by this nomination and award and feel it reflects all the great teams and people I have worked with over the years - especially at Kingston and St George's."

Professor Ian Peate, who has worked on the Gibraltar Nursing Programme run by the Joint Faculty of Kingston University and St George's, University of London, has been awarded an OBE for services to Nursing and Nurse Education.

Professor Andy Kent, Dean of the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education, said: “We are all absolutely thrilled in the Joint Faculty of Kingston and St George's that two outstanding colleagues have been recognised in this way. They have made us very proud, and we are thrilled for them and their families. 

"It is also great to see so many nurses recognised in this year’s list, with over 20 awards in total.”
