St George's, University of London has been ranked 15th in the UK for student satisfaction in the 2008 National Student Survey. The results of the survey have been released this week by HEFCE (the Higher Education Funding Council for England).
St George's, University of London has been ranked 15th in the UK for student satisfaction in the 2008 National Student Survey. The results of the survey have been released this week by HEFCE (the Higher Education Funding Council for England).
Ninety percent of St George’s students reported overall satisfaction with their course, putting the Institution in the top 10% out of a total of 149 UK universities. St George’s was the highest scoring specialist healthcare institution.
An independent market research company commissioned by HEFCE carried out the survey. Students across the UK were asked to rate their level of satisfaction with their universities in a number of categories such as quality of teaching, academic support and development opportunities.
Caroline Persaud, Head of Student Services said: “St George’s is a friendly close-knit community and we pride ourselves on our great staff-student relations. Our aim is to give students the best possible experience, both in and out of lectures, so we’re delighted that our efforts have been recognised by the students themselves.”
The National Student Survey results are part of the information published by UK universities about the quality and academic standards of their degrees. This year a total of 210,000 students took part in the survey.
Principal Professor Peter Kopelman said: “We always put students first and helping them on the path to a rewarding and fulfilling career is our priority. These results speak volumes about the quality of teaching and support they receive.”
