International student hardship fund

International student hardship fund

What is the International/EU student hardship fund?

St George’s, University of London has funding available for full-time undergraduate and postgraduate international and EU students who are experiencing financial hardship. The funding comes in the form of a non-repayable grant. Interest-free short term loans are also available to tide you over while you are waiting for remittances. If necessary, you can apply to the fund on more than one occasion during your time here.

Eligibility - who can apply?

The funding is available for full-time international and EU students registered on an undergraduate or postgraduate course with St George’s, University of London.

Kingston University registered students ie. Pre-registration nursing/midwifery/social work/BSc Nursing students are not eligible for this funding.

An international student is defined as a person who has not been classed as a ‘home’ student by St George's.

To qualify for the fund you should be in financial hardship due to circumstances which are out of your control (i.e. you must have secured enough funding to study and live in the UK, and your hardship is therefore due to unexpected and uncontrollable events).

Disabled students

Disabled students, especially those with dyslexia, can apply for help towards the cost of their preliminary diagnostic test. If you wish to have a preliminary diagnostic test for dyslexia (with an educational psychologist), please contact our disability advisor.

How to apply
