Course overview

This course is designed to help you acquire the skills you need to study medicine even if you do not have the academic qualifications usually required. If you have not had the chance to enter higher education it enables you to demonstrate, through work experience and personal development, that you have the social and organisational skills and the motivation needed to succeed in the field of medicine. This course allows an opportunity for mature students to enter the MBBS course at St George’s. Having finished this preparatory year, your academic background must be sufficient to allow you to complete the remaining five years of the course.

As part of the application you must be able to demonstrate significant career progression over a minimum three year period. Read more about the academic and non-academic requirements for this course.

If you are shortlisted you will be invited to an interview. This short focused interaction will combine a traditional question and answer session with task based questions. Read more about these interviews.
