Course overview
This is a one-year full-time course which is appropriate both for those wanting a stand-alone master’s course with a strong emphasis on biomedical research and for those who want a year of postgraduate research training before proceeding to a PhD in the biomedical field. Some combinations of modules and projects would also be appropriate for those from a medical or health care professional background who want to gain research experience for professional development or prior to applying for a research degree.
Objectives
- Provide training in the key generic skills required to be a scientific researcher through successful completion of the core modules;
- Provide training and experience in the practical skills required to be a scientific researcher through the successful completion of the project module;
- Provide practice in communicating the results of research both in oral presentations and in writing.
