Electives

Please note that the Elective scheme at St George's is now closed for 2012.  We have made all of our allocations and can no longer process or accommodate placement requests for 2012.  Please do not submit an enquiry form, as your request will not be processed.

If you have a question regarding the elective scheme, please contact
elective@sgul.ac.uk and we will endeavour to respond to your email within two weeks of its receipt.

The elective scheme will reopen towards the end of 2012 for 2013 placement applications.  We advise that you monitor our web pages carefully from October 2012 for further information on potential vacancies.

Electives

St George’s offers a wide range of Medical Elective placements in a number of different clinical specialties. If you are interested in applying for a placement at St George’s, please read through the information listed below carefully.

How long are Medical Elective placements?

The placements offered by St George’s are four weeks in duration. Unfortunately, we do not offer placements that exceed four weeks in duration. These placements cannot be split between different specialties or dates; therefore if you choose to apply you will only be able to submit one request for a four week period.  Please note that placements must commence at the start of the month and conclude at the end of the same month, e.g. 2 January 2012 to 27 January 2012. Other requests for dates cannot be accommodated.
