The medical photography team are all professionally qualified and nationally registered. They are all CRB checked

The service includes video and photographing of patients in our purpose built clinical studio, or photographers will attend wards, outpatient clinics and surgical operations (please note: we need advance notice to photograph any surgical operations).

Clinical photographs can be requested by the consultant and his/her team on completing a clinical photographic request form. Please see contact details below.

All clinical photographs taken by the photographers have the consent of the patient to use in their records and /or medical teaching. However, If you wish to obtain consent for publication you will need to write to the patient with details of the publication. A BMJ recommended consent form is available to download below or this purpose.

All photographs are shot on digital format and stored on the NHS Trust’s “iBase” database which can be accessed by appropriate staff using your email username and password. All permissions for access are controlled by the Trusts IT help desk on extension 3456. Medical photography can not provide authorization for the levels of permission neede to access Ibase. However, we can provide hard copies for specific purposes, please contact 020 8672 3772.

We provide a fast effective service, but we rely on the assistance of medical staff in giving reasonable notice of requests. It is paramount that patients being sent  to our clinical studio are able to do so without risk of injury to themselves.

NB: Please note we do not have facilities to remove and replace dressings in our clinical studio.
