NHS Healthcare Databases (HDAS)

If you are searching for articles on a topic use one of the Healthcare databases.
You can access databases such as Medline, CINAHL, and PsycINFO through NHS Evidence Healthcare Databases Advanced Search or via the Library's databases page.

See our literature searching section to find out more about how the Library can help you get the most out of healthcare databases.

NHS Evidence

NHS Evidence aims to provide a straightforward way to search for information from sources such as the BNF, NICE guidance and Cochrane Systematic Reviews.

Search across sources via keyword(s) from the main search page or access key information via the A-Z topic pages or NICE pathways

Electronic Journals

NHS staff have access to 3,500 electronic full-text journals covering clinical medicine, nursing, psychology and healthcare management.

The journals are available direct from any computer, in the ward, office or at home, with an internet connection, via the NHS Evidence My Journals service which offers a list of electronic and print journals available. (Remember to sign in with your Athens username and password to search this page.) For more detailed information about using these, and university journals click here.

For further help with NHS journals see our online guide to finding NHS Journals or try watching our short online tutorial.

Ebooks

NHS ebooks are provided by MyiLibrary and can be browsed via NHS Evidence Ebooks.  Remember to sign in with your Athens username and password. NHS ebooks can also be found through the Libray Catalogue where they are identified by the class mark EBOOK NHS LOGIN.
