Quality Assurance at SGUL

Quality Assurance at SGUL

Introduction

The Planning & Secretariat office is responsible for managing quality assurance and enhancement of teaching and learning at SGUL. This includes the development of processes to meet the needs of the institution as it grows and diversifies, and in particular to ensure that collaborative provision continues to be addressed. The team plays a key role in managing professional/statutory body and QAA visits.

The Academic Quality Assurance Committee

Responsibility for the quality of teaching and learning at SGUL lies with the Academic Quality Assurance Commitee, which reports to Senate.

It has three main roles:

  • To undertake continuing development of quality assurance and enhancement procedures.
  • To monitor the operation of the School’s quality assurance procedures and recommend improvements where appropriate.
  • To coordinate the School’s response to the Quality Assurance Agency’s Subject Review and Institutional Review processes.
