Safety Management Committee

 

1. Constitution

1.1 The Safety Management Group (SMG) shall be a Committee of School Council.

1.2 The Constitution, Terms of Reference and Membership is designed to underline the SMG’s role as a consultative body advising Council and the School Management Team.

1.3 The SMG is also responsible for establishing, reviewing and monitoring School health, safety and environment policies and arrangements in accordance with the Regulations on Safety Committees and Safety Representatives 1978, the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and the Health and Safety (Consultation with Employees) Regulations 1996.

1.4 The SMG will be independently chaired by a member of the Executive Committee and appointed by Council.
