The Planning Office has responsibility for information Management across the institution. This involves:

Developing St George’s information capacity, to ensure that institutional decisions are informed by reliable, pertinent information, and that we develop performance indicators, including understanding and using Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) benchmarks and Performance Indicators. In due course, a capacity for horizon-scanning, managing league tables, and awareness of our competitors should be developed.

Managing (in partnership with appropriate professional departments) St George’s various submissions to the HEFCE, ensuring that returns are accurate and consistent with each other, and that they present a picture consistent with institutional strategy and plans. It is also important that they be submitted within deadlines. In due course, a familiarity with likely HEFCE developments, and the dissemination of information on this within the institution, should be developed
